Laurel Waters Art Edit
I was first exposed to the medium of oil when I was a young teenager and continued tinkering with it throughout a high school with a great art history and studio arts program. I continued gaining skills in arts-based colleges I attended, and am now exploring a deepening connection to the medium through further education, trial and error, and a vibrant form of committed play. I began my Vermont painting journey by showing paintings of the local landscape through smaller and supportive community venues in and around Shelburne, Vermont in 2009. I was able to paint significantly more through the help of commissions and sales of originals and prints. In January 2013, I shifted my paints to a larger space in Charlotte, VT which provided a quieter place to further develop artistic direction. In early May of 2104, I moved into an old storefront building down the road (also in Charlotte), and set up the large white plastered wall space primarily for studio painting, drop in customer visits, and specialized events.
